SALON BRAVO DELTA

Locks on the doors notwithstanding, they say Salon Bravo Delta never closes. Considering its ant problem, however, perhaps it should--at least long enough for fumigation. Dancing, limber ladies are one thing. Mugs that seem to move on their own are quite another. Bravo Delta is one of the last bastions of old-school Eruante, so if you take any wagers make sure you've got the edge.

This location is at [47.6689 N, 122.3744 W].

saturated wheatgerm

A hearty strain of wheat infused with a mild narcotic, this grain was developed by Dolorous XXIV for use on potentially hostile colony worlds to keep the populace docile and pliant. If only he had fed the grain to his own son, or perhaps child-proofed the ceremonial sword in his great hall, he might have prevented Dolorous XXV's early ascension to the throne.

SCRABBLE

Ancient word game that occasionally causes players to shake their eyes and their opponents to have a big snit.

SEAL

SEAL, or the Serial Engraved Astronomical Legend, is one of the great mysteries of the galaxy. Believed to have been created by the enigmatic Montevoid, SEAL depicts what scholars suspect was the Montevoid home sector. Visitors perusing the guest book are liable to come across some of the biggest names in the galaxy, including Edward Teeler, Tanisha Little, and even Aunt Mae. SEAL has become a site of great spiritual significance, and visitors frequently leave personal messages and prayers behind.

SEAL is located at [47.5736 N, 122.4163 W].

second sight

Second sight is an ability found natively in those from Linar, but can also be studied at Noble Snakes Academy under the tutelage of an Urthampic Monk. This extraordinary skill involves the detaching and telekinetic control of ocular devices over distances up to three Instarx. This ability has quickly become the most prized skill in Wolf's Tooth.

shepherd's friend

A gengineered breed of sheep, the existence of shepherd's friends is widely known but seldom discussed. Farm colonies are isolated, lonely places. Men have needs. Do the math.

SHREDMART

ShredMart (a fully-owned subsidiary of Galactic Consortium) is the one stop shop for all your evidence disposal needs. Incriminating internal memos? Not a problem! Cooked financial records? Shred 'em and fuhgeddem. Holorecs of your "private" calls the night you awoke to a blood-spattered call girl and a bloody knife? Burned. ShredMart erases your problems and removes your burdens, freeing you to focus on your business. For a limited time, ShredMart is pleased to sponsor a Focus Bonus of twenty-five cedricks for each set of four identical items (MANUFACTURED items not included) a Mooncurser brings in.

ShredMart's regional headquarters is located at [48.4362 N, 122.3126 W].

SIGNPOST

The ancient navigation beacon has fallen apart. You'll need to reassemble it to have any hope of navigating the Lucifer Expanse.

Data processing is in progress. As the HINT system makes discoveries, you will be notified of any insights you are about to have.

silicate

Silicon-based life form. They were first discovered after the Canary Incident, although no causal relationship has been established. Attempts to communicate with them have been largely unsuccessful, usually cryptic, and occasionally fatal. As far as anyone can tell, silicates are completely peaceful toward carbon-based life forms when left alone, if you consider lethal indifference to be peaceful. If you do manage to provoke them, they're somewhat less indifferent.

Silver Cluster

Centrally located near the Yidna Band, the Silver Cluster has long been a teeming center of commerce, both legitimate and more keenly profitable. Recent rumors of the presence of Zeugor have left the real estate market reeling. Some say this is an elaborate ruse, but would you stay? Don't forget to hit Stub's one more time on your way out. With the market so volatile, it's more important than ever that Mooncursers cater to all budgets. Any ship whose cargo contains all possible QUALITY values receives a Budget Bonus equal to the total QUALITY value of their UNETHICAL items.

Simoldon

Simoldon is a top vacation destination for Chundertonians, a fact which defies explanation unless you have visited Chunderton--in which case a week on Simoldon would seem like eight days in heaven. The major landmasses of Simoldon are sheathed in heavy cloud cover, resulting in a perpetually overcast and drizzly climate with thunder continually echoing in the distance. The whole effect is not unlike living inside a starving Xanjian's stomach, but without the minty fresh scent.

Simoldon is the home to Blakewells corporate headquarters. Also, while the Canary Incident has become the de facto punch line in some planets' entire repertoires of phrebbnesht jokes, the people of Simoldon tend to be rather prickly about it. You'd be wise to keep all but the most oblique references to yourself.

Singing Trees

In Slickwood farms, occasionally a mutant Singing Tree appears. When one is cut, it begins to produce a rather tuneless noise that the Nissa people refer to as singing. When they encounter one of these trees, they bandage them with a scarf of Xanjian silk and tend them back to health. Thus, only Singing Trees grow to full maturity, while the rest of the Slickwood trees are cut down quite early.

Slickwood

Slickwood is a strange plant that grows in Nissa. Its physical structure resembles a tree; however without its bark its internal structure is not structurally stable. Thus it is processed into pulp by the residents of Nissa using the enzymes in their saliva, and then compressed into panels for transport to the Waterless Sector, where no trees grow.

SLUG

Slang term for the round, one-person vessels common in the Tolt system, a bucolic and pleasingly sedate vacation destination except during Harmony Day, when travelers avoiding the bacchanalia on Pilarvane take refuge on Tolt to pursue peace and quiet with disturbing intensity.

It is customary when visiting Tolt to make a two-person water journey, so dress accordingly.

Slugs can be hired at Galactic Positioning Coordinates [47.6401 N, 121.9256 W]. Navigate through the waypoint at GP Coordinates [47.6390 N, 121.9165 W] as the spaceroutes are uncharted in this area.

Smitherman class cruiser

The most noticeable feature of the Smitherman class cruiser would probably be the fact that it runs purely on hostile thoughts. As a result the best crews tend to be composed of surly pricks. The most famous cruiser of this type is the Glattery. It was the first ship to safely return from the collection of asteroids now known as the Glattery Frontier.

Soylent Mauve

While only crackpots and conspiracy nuts gave any real credence to the notion that Soylent Corp's Green food squares were composed of human tissue, the meme proved persistent enough to cause a precipitous drop in Soylent Corp stock. Pulling Soylent Green off the market failed to halt the rumors about unethical practices at the company. Soylent's response to the public relations nightmare of the Soylent Green debacle was Soylent Mauve, produced in sparking new facilities with glass walls so visitors can observe the entire process. It's unclear whether this new corporate transparency, Mauve's tantalizing dash of cinnamon, or the conveniently-timed explosion at rival Tofusion Corp's lunar production facility was responsible for the product's runaway success. With the recent popularity of the Soylent Diet and introduction of new wafer-thin squares, demand for Soylent Mauve has never been higher.

Sphere Dynasty

The Sphere Dynasty is a consortium of designer planets in the VerrQuadrant. It is home to some of the most expensive real estate in the galaxy, including Analor V, the Pearl of the Confed. Many executives and aristocrats make their homes here. At press time, the Sphere Dynasty's value was seven times that of its closest competitor, the Phlogg Dynasty. Location, location, location!

Stub's

Stub's is the crappiest restaurant in the entire Silver Cluster, and also the most popular. It certainly isn't popular for the food, which tastes like jank fungus, the view (none), but instead for the bathroom stalls. The graffiti in these stalls is a veritable Who's Who of thrill-seekers throughout the galaxy. People flock from all over to write their name, sexual preference, and favorite dirty limerick. Stub's promises that if your graffiti is still legible when Zeugor destroys the planet, you win a free fries and soda. Good luck claiming that.

SUNSET

Grab some shoes and start bowling. Make sure to find your friendly neighborhood GC contact after each frame.

suntoad extract

"Extract" is a bit of a misnomer, especially if one envisions the removal of a thorn from a paw, or soaking a vanilla bean in alcohol. On the other hand, if the word conjures up visions of enormous industrial presses, thousands of Camaaran suntoads, and giant centrifuges to separate the essential oils from... everything else, "extract" is precisely correct. Suntoad extract smooths the skin and reverses many of the visible effects of aging, producing a pleasant tingling sensation entirely unlike an enormous industrial press.
