BACARDI

You have completed the challenge of the master of the fire.

Benevolent Inc

Originally a non-profit organization devoted to the preservation of endangered species' habitats, Benevolent Inc exploded in value when their patented method for kurgle incubation proved integral to the refinement of UltraPureJoy. The original founders now reside in the Verr Quadrant, which they largely own.

Berserker Beam

A psionic weapon developed by the Ralurian Ministry of Psychoceramics, the berserker beam amplifies and projects the hostility of its wielder. The target of the beam becomes incapable of rational thought, lashing out at anyone and anything within reach until incapacitated. By turning allies into lethal threats, the berserker beam creates havoc within the ranks of an opposing force. The use of the beam within the confined quarters of a spacecraft can be particularly devastating. The weapon requires a high-grade psicrystal to have any practical range, and its efficacy is limited by the depth of the wielder's anger and rage--a limitation traditionally overcome by deployment of a Poke-Poke Field Generator.

BETELGEUSE

Betelgeuse (no relation to the star of the same name, which as you might imagine causes quite a bit of confusion--but YOU try to get a flidding Josta at the Galactic Nomenclature Division to rename it to something more sensible!) is a phantasmagorical world where imagination quite literally becomes real, thanks to arcane machinery operating deep below the planet's surface. The sights are well worth taking in.

Note: As you might imagine, Betelgeuse is closely monitored by authorities so please be discreet.

The location is at [47.8926 N, 122.2981 W].

Blakewells cough drops

Caught with a sore throat in the Glattery Frontier? No amount of Clicktalk will help when your cough turns "Request permission to dock" into "Care to join me in flidding your mother?" Don't be caught without Blakewells, the most effective cough drops in the universe. Depending on the patient's body chemistry, though, they may be surprisingly corrosive, leading to minor blood loss, speech impediments, or even death. Be sure to consult the list of contraindicated species at Blakewells corporate headquarters on Simoldon.

bloodleaf

Bloodleaf has confounded exobiologists since its discovery a century ago on one of the moons of Proxtel, creating a deep schism in the scientific and vegetarian communities. Resembling an enormous fern in appearance, spore-like reproductive cycle, and photosynthetic properties, the organism also possesses a circulatory system of blood-filled capillaries pumped by a subterranean heart. Although no cerebral organ has been found, electroencephalographs have detected faint brainwave activity. The question of bloodleaf's sentience is the subject of heated debate at crashingly dull conferences by the sort of people who introduce themselves at parties as their telewave handle and think buttons proclaiming "My other body's an AbRipper Mark VI" are the height of wit.

Bloodleaf is currently classified as a plant. A very creepy plant that bleeds on you. Which of course makes them highly prized by the Goth Nation. Hormones from the plant have been found to enhance olfactory and gustatory acuity in some humanoid species, but have recently come under attack by the Vegan Church whose members fear that if bloodleaf is declared to be insentient, they might be next.

Bodhi cables

Interface cord, typically with a female connector at each end, for connecting Bodhi ports, enabling direct intercranial data transfer.

BOWERY BEE

Bowery Bees are a favorite of children across the galaxy. They travel in troupes and move into small parks for weeks at a time, telling old time favorites through intricate spatial arrangements and harmonious buzzing. News of their arrival spreads like wildfire, bringing children from far distances. It is tradition to bring exotic flower arrangements in an attempt to prolong their stay, but they always go, leaving scores of broken hearts.

Brunswick

Possessing no arms or legs, the Brunswick has one of the more unusual locomotion patterns in the galaxy. It secretes a perfectly spherical shell around itself and moves by changing its internal center of gravity. The only openings in the shell are for its eyes and a combined mouth/anal cavity. If disturbed, it is likely to bite your thumb off and keep it for a snack. It has often been the subject of ridicule for not having sense enough to develop limbs, although some swear they detected a barely-suppressed smirk for the brief period during the Canary Incident when walking became impractical.

Bulova

Bulova was once a verdant green planet hosting a complex ecosystem of local flora and fauna, with an atmosphere rich in nutricious colyx spores. Bulova's tranquility attracted Premier Crunkle the Over-Exposed to establish a vacation home there for his family. Tragically, Crunkle's daughter developed a violent allergic reaction to colyx spores and died shortly after the family's arrival. Lost in sorrow, Crunkle ordered the planet terraformed and eradicated the native ecology.

Today Bulova is the most boring planet in the galactic core and, not surprisingly, the political center of the Confed.

Bulova Accords

The horrors of the Photogenic Wars spurred a keen interest throughout the Confed in preventing similar atrocities in the future. A special session of the Confed Council convened at Bulova to create guidelines and protocols for future conflicts. The Bulova Accords outlaw all genetically engineered and nanotechnological weapons, restrict the usage of hip-hop, electronica, and Michael Bolton as means of torture, and prohibit the addition of grapefruit to any fruit salad served at official Confed affairs of state.

Burtle Teflon sheets

Synthetic sheets from the factory combines of Burtle. While these sheets are 100 times smoother than the finest Xanjian silk and can be purchased by the common moisture farmer instead of being the prerogative of a select few heads of state, they smell like jank fungus and thus have a limited customer base. See Andovian flu.
