crystite
Found in the great asteroid belt of the outer rim, crystite is a brittle metal with a crystalline structure. Naturally-occurring crystite, radioactive to a level of two megarads of omnicron radiation per unit, requires a Multiple Use Labor Element to extract safely. Once its halflife expires, crystite can be metabolized by silicates who describe its taste as having metamorphic complexity with an igneous kick. Demand for crystite has surged in recent years in the wake of the Crystite Board's "Crystite Solid" campaign.
