omnicron radiation

An unusual form of radiation that has no noticeable effect in low doses. Upon exposure to omnicron radiation, however, carbon-based organisms absorb it at a cellular level. Each organism has its own tipping point, generally at around one hundred megarads but in some cases considerably lower. When an organism's absorbed radiation exceeds that level, the organism's cellular structure instantly breaks down. The result is a dramatic cascading collapse of skin and bone that would be precisely like a bucolic waterfall, if waterfalls required biohazard cleanup teams.
